Researching for Colin Sinclair (seafarer, captain, ship owner) in San Francisco in 1849 through early 1850′s. His crew abandond the ship/boat. He is said to have become a harbor master. He may have a statue in his honor somewher in SF. He is the brother of James Sinclair (“West of the Mountains”; Oregon wagon trains). Would like some actual reference sources for him. Thank You!
So far, nothing specific has turned up on Colin Sinclair specifically that might help. Notes on individuals in San Francisco named Sinclair are here:
Information I have found on Harbor Masters thus far is here: http://www.maritimeheritage.org/news/harbor-masters.html
Sorry not be of more assistance. If I turn up anything additional, it will be posted also.
