Capt. Tibbits did not sail the ship “Pacific” into San Francisco
as he should have. He was kicked off the ship in Rio and was
replaced by George T. Esterbrook (sp.) who sailed the ship the
rest of the way to San Francisco and recieved the praise of the passengers.

I greatly appreciate the correction; as you may know this is a one-person project and it seems I have bit off more through the years than I can chew. Now that I’m updating the full site, I realize just how much has been included in the past 15 years! Corrections such as yours are invaluable.

This article spells Estabrooks like so although I have seen it printed without the final “s”.
